Enforced disappearances and human rights violations against minority groups highlighted
Concluding her visit to Bangladesh, United Nations (UN) Human Rights Commissioner Michelle Bachelet called on the government to establish an impartial and independent investigation into ongoing allegations of enforced disappearances and torture in the country, and criticized the lack of due process. Bachelet also raised concerns over continued allegations of human rights violations and land encroachments against minority groups in Bangladesh and rising anti-Rohingya rhetoric.
