On Monday 2 October 2017, International IDEA hosted a panel discussion on 'Democracy, Poverty and Peace' at International IDEA´s headquarters in Stockholm.
The panel was organized by ATD Fourth World, an international NGO that works on poverty eradication through changing society´s views of people living in poverty, and through the empowerment of marginalized groups.
On 2 October 2017, International IDEA celebrated a decade of work in Bolivia, satisfying the mission of supporting democratic processes and institutions. Its work focuses on four thematic areas: constitutional building; electoral processes; participation and political representation; democracy and development. It also works transversally on gender, diversity, conflict and security issues.
Este 2 de octubre IDEA Internacional celebra una década de trabajo en Bolivia, cumpliendo con la misión de apoyar los procesos y las instituciones democráticas. Su trabajo se enfoca en cuatro áreas temáticas: procesos constitucionales; procesos electorales; participación y representación política; democracia y desarrollo. Así mismo, trabaja de manera transversal los temas de género, diversidad, conflicto y seguridad.
El incremento de mujeres en la política y en los espacios de toma de decisión se viene dando de manera muy lenta en el Perú. En 2016 en el país se ha iniciado un importante proceso de reforma electoral que IDEA Internacional ha venido acompañando y en un primer documento de trabajo se ha incluido la paridad y alternancia. Es un importante avance instalar este debate dentro del parlamento peruano.

The inaugural Melbourne Forum brought together leading academics and practitioners from across Asia and the Pacific to discuss constitution-building in contexts where there is a territorially defined societal conflict. Discussions highlighted both the importance of exchanging knowledge and experiences, and the need for more opportunities for practitioner-focused discussions in Asia and the Pacific.

In the immediate future, Europe should expect an increase in hacking of elections and countries would do well to step up their cyber protection.
