In light of the 25th Anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, and under the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals, the event will explore 25 years of women’s representation and participation within national constitution building processes, and examine broader developments and challenges related to gendered constitutional design choices.
Background: The SDG16 Data Initiative (DI) was launched in July 2016 by a consortium of partner organizations that seeks to support the open and holistic tracking of the commitments made by all 193 UN Member States captured in SDG16+. The SDG16 DI was created to respond to the gap in terms of comprehensive data on SDG16 issues, especially civil society generated data, open global monitoring and improved availability of data for civil society actors.

Brookings Foreign Policy program’s Democracy Working Group (DWG) and the Pew Research Center, will run a Roundtable discussion as part of a collaboration between them that brings Pew researchers in conversation with Brookings scholars and the broader policy community.
The roundtable will focus on the forthcoming Pew Research Center's report on "Global Attitudes Toward Democracy" which will be published on the morning of 27 February 2020.
The second edition of International IDEA’s flagship report The Global State of Democracy 2019: Addressing the Ills, Reviving the Promise, will be launched in Addis Ababa on 18 February 2020. The Global Launch took place in Brussels on 19 November 2019.
Armenia’s parliament is currently developing a package of proposals to reform several aspects of its electoral process. One area of focus is the current system of out-of-country voting (OCV), which provides the opportunity for diplomatic and military personnel posted outside the country to cast their ballots online in national elections and referenda.
