Global Election Monitor (GEM)

The Global Election Monitor (GEM) is a series of summaries on national elections. Each summary aims to identify risks to electoral integrity as well as highlight prevention and mitigation practices. 

All of the GEM briefs are based on open-source information and will typically highlight key concerns and actions listed in news articles and reports from election observation missions, electoral assistance community and electoral management bodies. 

The GEM is a qualitative dashboard and the information compiled is based on desk research by International IDEA’s Electoral Processes Team. The GEM is updated every four months with new country briefs.
