The project "Strengthening electoral integrity ecosystems to protect democracies in Latin America" ​​is funded by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) within the framework of its Democracy Program.

The project aims to strengthen electoral integrity ecosystems to protect democracies and prevent democratic backsliding in Latin America. It contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals of Gender Equality (SDG 5) and Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (SDG 16). The topics covered include electoral integrity, political and technological risks, with a special focus on digital gender-based violence.

The implementation axes include knowledge generation, training, facilitating multi-stakeholder dialogue, partnerships with electoral bodies and civil society, and working with media outlets and digital platforms. It is aimed at electoral bodies, civil society organisations, women politicians, media outlets, and digital platforms, with a citizen-centred reach. The geographic area of ​​influence is Latin America and the Caribbean, with emphasis on Chile, Mexico, Colombia, Guatemala, Uruguay and Peru.
