Kirsten McRae received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Howard University in 2011. After several years working in communications she returned to school to pursue her master’s degree at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy in Toronto, Ontario where her coursework is primarily concerned with nationalism and national identity in East and Southeast Asia. She is interning with the International IDEA in Myanmar through August 2019.
