Cassie Eng is an intern for the Asia and the Pacific region in the Canberra office.
Cassie is pursuing her B.A. from Princeton University in the School of Public and International Affairs. Her studies focus on democratization and social protection policy with specific interests in analyzing the way issues of housing, race, and poverty influence civic participation. Before arriving in Canberra, she completed a semester abroad at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, where she participated in a task force researching the role of international actors in social protection policy advocacy in South Africa and Botswana, and their tensions with local government ambivalence. During her stay in Cape Town, she also observed the 2024 South Africa Election.
