With its arid to semi-arid landscape, Botswana is vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and particularly exposed to droughts and water scarcity, which in turn affect the agriculture sector, critical for the subsistence of the population. At the same time, Botswana has a solid environmental governance framework in place and is a regional leader in preparedness (ND-GAIN Vulnerability Index).
