Vanuatu is a highly vulnerable Small Island Developing State, where climate change is a central political concern. Vanuatu is among the main proponents of 'The Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative', and is also promoting a campaign to seek an opinion from the International Court of Justice on international obligations to protect present and future generations from the impact of climate change
