Electoral system for the president

The President is chosen by the Knesset in a secret ballot. In the first and second rounds of voting, an absolute majority of all parliamentarians is needed. In the third or any subsequent ballot, an absolute majority of those present is sufficient. From the third round onwards, the candidate with the smallest number of votes in the preceding ballot is excluded.
