2. Is there a ban on donations from foreign interests to candidates?

Art. 89 and 90, Ordinance No. 21-01 of 26 Rajab 1442 (March 10, 2021) on the organic law relating to the electoral system

It is forbidden to any candidate for an election to a national or local mandate, to receive, in a manner direct or indirect, cash donations, in kind or any other contribution, whatever form, from a foreign state or a natural or legal person of foreign nationality. 

Donations made by Algerians resident abroad are not considered foreign financing for the financing of the electoral campaign of candidates or lists of electoral district candidates to abroad.
