2. Is there a ban on donations from foreign interests to candidates?

Art.168. "(1) A party, a coalition or a nomination committee may not receive the following in connection with the election campaign: ... 3. financial resources from non-resident natural persons, with the exception of the persons who are nationals of another Member State of the European Union, who are enfranchised under this Code; ... 5. financial resources from foreign governments or from foreign State-owned enterprises, foreign commercial corporations or foreign non-profit organisations. (2) The entities referred to in Items 2 to 5 of Paragraph (1) may not provide any movable and immovable things for gratuitous use in connection with the election campaign, or any gratuitous services in any form whatsoever."

Article 168 (1-2), The Election Code, 2014;    Чл. 168. (1) "Партия, коалиция или инициативен комитет във връзка с предизборната кампания не може да получава:

3. средства от чуждестранни физически лица, с изключение на лицата - граждани на друга държава - членка на Европейския съюз, които имат избирателни права по кодекса;

5. средства от чужди правителства или от чуждестранни държавни предприятия, чуждестранни търговски дружества или чуждестранни организации с идеална цел.
(2) Субектите по ал. 1, т. 2 - 5 не може да предоставят във връзка с предизборната кампания движими и недвижими вещи за безвъзмездно ползване, както и безвъзмездни услуги под каквато и да е форма."
