Article 99(2). A candidate in order to be elected as President of the Republic must obtain the absolute majority of the total number of valid votes cast. If no candidate thus obtains the absolute majority, the election shall be repeated after seven days between the two candidates who obtained the greater number of valid votes cast and the candidate who gets a such repeated election the highest number of valid votes cast shall be elected as President of the Republic.
