Electoral system for the president

Ireland, Constitution 1937 (as amended 2019), accessed 30 April 2020

Article 12.2.1. The President shall be elected by direct vote of the people.

12.2.3. The voting shall be by secret ballot and on the system of proportional representation by means of the single transferable vote.
