Legal sanctions for non-compliance

Violation of the above will result in the rejection of all declared candidacies for deputies or senators, as appropriate, of the party that has not complied with this requirement. (Article 3 bis.)

The Electoral Service Council must reject all declarations of candidacy for deputy or senator, as appropriate, made by political parties, whether or not they are in an electoral pact, that do not comply with the sex percentage established in the fifth paragraph of the above mentioned article.
   Political parties whose all declarations of candidacy for deputy or senator, as appropriate, are rejected in accordance with the provisions of letter b) of this article, may correct them before the Electoral Service within four business days following the date of the dispatch of the email that notifies the resolution referred to in the first paragraph, in order to adjust to the sex percentage established in the fifth paragraph of article 3 bis, either withdrawing declarations of candidacy or declaring new ones. … (Article 17)
