2. Is there a ban on donations from foreign interests to candidates?

42. Concerning political financing, GRECO also welcomes the enhanced transparency in the system of political financing in Cyprus and commends the authorities for the efforts made. It is to be noted that the new obligation for political parties and election candidates to draft and submit, to the appropriate authorities, specific reports relating to election campaigns is a very positive step, as is the involvement of the Auditor General in the monitoring.
