Information for stakeholders and election observers in Myanmar

October 05, 2015

About 120,000 booklets with essential information for voter-education trainers, candidates, election agents and domestic election observers have now been released by the Union Election Commission (UEC), with support of International IDEA.

An FAQ on political finance regulations will assist parties and candidates to understand reporting and compliance requirements. IDEA also reviewed four booklets, ‘Electoral Offences and Malpractice'; 'Things for Election Agents, Polling Station Agents and Assistant Agents to know'; 'Things for Voters to know'; 'Things for Candidates to Know', and printed 20,000 copies of each for distribution to the relevant electoral stakeholders.

In addition, IDEA Myanmar is working to support the needs of the UEC in the accreditation of election observers, and has produced a booklet on the ‘Do’s and Don’ts for domestic observers’ and an FAQ for international election observers.

These documents are all now available for download.
