Nine primers on constitution building in Arabic have been added to the website.
The primers are intended to assist in-country constitution-building or reform processes by helping stakeholders such as citizens, political parties, civil society organizations and public officials to make informed constitutional choices. The information in these primers are also helpful to inter-governmental organizations and other external actors to provide support to national and local decision-makers.
The nine primers translated cover the topics of federalism, local democracy, bicameralism, religion-state relations, social and economic rights, limitation clauses, constitutional monarchs in parliamentary democracies, non-executive presidencies in parliamentary democracies, and presidential veto powers.
They were chosen and translated by International IDEA’s Cairo office out of the 15 primers currently available in English.
