Parliaments, Youth and Intergenerational Justice
INTER PARES is organising the “Parliaments, Youth and Intergenerational Justice” workshop on 22 June 2022 from 9:30 to 13:00 CEST in Stockholm, Sweden.
VIRTUAL PARTICIPATION IS AVAILABLE upon registration
This workshop aims to take stock of potential solutions to the long-term policy challenges, including climate change, budget deficits, infrastructure maintenance, nuclear waste disposal, social program management, and disaster preparedness, faced by Parliaments and democracies nowadays. Its objective is to map existing practices for long-term policy-making both inside and outside Parliaments. More specifically, the workshop will be centered around three complementary themes:
- How to engage current generations of young people in parliamentary policy-making?
- How to include the perspectives of future generations in parliamentary policy-making?
- How to include the perspectives of future generations in policy-making outside of parliaments?
PROGRAMME IS COMING SOON
The workshop is a second of an INTER PARES series of discussions on parliaments and intergenerational justice that started in October 2021 with “Parliaments, Climate Change, and Intergenerational Justice” online workshop co-organised by INTER PARES, International IDEA and World Forum for Democracy.
