IPCAT Workshop for Indigenous Peoples Champions

Twenty representatives from six indigenous tribes in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), selected as IP Champions,  are attending a weeklong training workshop on International IDEA’s Indigenous Peoples’ Rights in Constitutions Assessment Tool (IPCAT).  

The training is focusing on how to use the IPCAT methodology in order to better understand and assess legal frameworks and their implementation from the indigenous peoples rights point of view; and if these laws and policies in the Philippines are in line with internationally recognized rights and standards.

The project “IP Champions: Advancing Indigenous Peoples Rights in the Philippines” is implemented by International IDEA and Institute for Autonomy and Governance, funded by the European Union.
