Sekolah Reformasi Malaysia: Workshop on Malaysian Youth’s Political Engagement

The Sekolah Reformasi Malaysia (School of Reform Malaysia) is a joint initiative between International IDEA and the Institute for Political Reform and Democracy (REFORM) Malaysia that aims to enhance the knowledge of the members of Dewan Waghih Siswa (Negeri Sembilan Student Council) on democratic principles, institutions and processes to enable them to engage further in their role as members of the youth and student councils of Negeri Sembilan Government through IDEA’s Youth Democracy Academy learning program.
The workshop on 24-25 January 2025 will enable the participants of the program to partake in dialogues with policymakers and governance experts on Malaysian politics.
Agenda:

Visit the National Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM) and dialogue with Dato’ Seri Hishamuddin bin Md Yunus, Chairman of SUHAKAM.

Panel on the importance of youth involvement in Malaysian politics with:

Mdm. Rusnah Aluai, former Member of Parliament, Tangga Batu constituency.

Dr. Jufitri bin Joha, youth engagement expert and former candidate of Rembau constituency.

Mayna Patel, former Engagement Manager to the Member of Parliament, Petaling Jaya.
