Hosted by Human Rights Watch, this panel will explore how economic inequality fuels social unrest and the weakening of democratic institutions. Featuring former heads of state and civil society leaders, this event aims to identify actionable strategies to address economic injustices while promoting democratic governance. 

Participants include the Secretary-General of International IDEA Kevin Casas-Zamora, Danilo Turk, former President of Slovenia,  Elbegdorj Tsakhia, former Prime Minister and President of Mongolia, George Papandreou, former Prime Minister of Greece and General Rapporteur on Democracy in the Council of Europe, Abby Maxman, CEO of Oxfam US, and Sarah Saadoun, Senior Researcher and Advocate at Human Rights Watch.
