This significant conference will bring together diverse national, regional, and international organizations and stakeholders to discuss and strategise the future of mineral resources governance across the continent.

The Government of Botswana is proud to announce the hosting of the “High-Level Dialogue on Comparative Mineral Resources Governance in Africa” on June 27 and 28, 2024. This significant conference will bring together a diverse array of national, regional, and international organizations and stakeholders to discuss and strategise the future of mineral resources governance across the continent.

The conference is co-organized by the Government of Botswana and the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UN ECA), the African Mineral Minerals Development Centre of the African Union (AU), and other esteemed partners. 

The “High-Level Dialogue on Comparative Mineral Resources Governance in Africa” aims to foster a collaborative platform for dialogue among key stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, civil society representatives, and international experts. The primary focus will be on enhancing governance frameworks, promoting sustainable practices, and leveraging mineral resources for inclusive economic development in Africa.

Botswana, renowned for its exemplary management of mineral resources, is an ideal venue for this crucial dialogue. The country's commitment to transparency, accountability, and sustainable development in its mining sector sets a benchmark for other nations to emulate.
