The results for each counting station were collected and openly posted at the counting centre. The returning officer collected the results for the whole constituency every hour and also posted them on a board inside the counting centre so that the party agents were able to follow the developments over the day. After the count, the certified returning officer, by endorsement on the writ, declared the elected candidates as members of the National Assembly and the number of votes they had respectively obtained. The endorsed writ was transmitted to the Electoral Commissioner’s Office.
