Electoral Act 1998, 4949 Objections concerning counting of votes and determination of provisional results(1) An agent may object to an alleged inaccuracy in the counting of the votes or the determination of a result in terms of section 47 (2) (c) or (d).(2) The objection must be made to the counting officer in the prescribed manner at any stage before the counting officer has completed the form mentioned in section 50.(3) The counting officer must decide the objection in the prescribed manner and whether to order a recount.(4) The counting officer must notify the objector and any other parties involved in the objection, of the decision made in terms of subsection (3).(5) If the counting officer orders a recount, the counting officer must determine afresh the result.(6) An appeal against the decision of the counting officer may be noted with the Commission in the prescribed manner and time.(7) The counting officer must keep a written record in the prescribed manner of each objection in terms of subsection (1) and each decision in terms of subsection (3).http://www.elections.org.za/content/WorkArea/DownloadAsset.aspx?id=989
