CHAPTER 20 ELECTION DISPUTES AND ELECTIONPETITIONS

Presentation of Election Petitions

69. An election petition calling in question anyelection shall be presented to the Court prescribed under section 467 or 468within ten days from the date of declaration of result in the constituency.

Provided that no election petition shall befiled before the result of election in the constituency has been declared.

470. An election petition may be presented byany candidate at the impugned election or any voter in the constituencyconcerned whether the voter has voted at that election or not.

471. An election petition may call in questionthe election on any one or more of the grounds prescribed in sections 476 and477.

472. Every election petition shall beaccompanied by as many copies thereof as there are respondents mentioned in thepetition with one more copy for the Election Commission.

473. Every copy of the election petition shallbe attested by the petitioner under his/her own signature to be a true copy ofthe petition.
