58. What sanctions are provided for political finance infractions?

Chapter IV: Penal Provisions Article 14 'Will be punished with a fine of 400,000 UM to 10,000,000 UM and imprisonment from one month to one year, or of only one of these two sentences, any candidate in case first-past-the-post ballot, or any candidate leading the list in the event of a list vote, who: (1) shall, in order to finance an election campaign, collect or accept funds in violation of the prescriptions of this order; 2 °) Will have exceeded the election expenses limit set in application of the provisions of this order; 3 °) Will not have respected the formalities of establishment of the campaign account'  Source Legal Order No. 035-2006 relating to Election Campaign Finance
