Registration

Nepal has mixed electoral system which consists of PR and FPTP components. The total number of registered voters in Nepal eligible to vote in the November 20 election was 17,988,570. But the number of registered voters who vote in the PR (Federal) component is higher, because Civil Servants, Security Officials, and Prisoners who do not get to vote in the FPTP system from their constituency can register their names separately to vote in the PR system for the federal House of Representatives. The number we reported is the sum of 17,988,570 registered voters and those who are eligible to vote for federal parliament in the PR system.
