Article35(1)(b). It has thereafter been submitted to a poll, conducted in a manner prescribed by law, of thepersons who at the time of that poll were entitled to vote as electors at ageneral election of members of the Niue Assembly, and has at that poll receivedthe support –

(i) In the case of any Billrepealing or amending or modifying or extending any of the provisions ofsections 2 to 9 of the Niue Constitution Act 1974 or of Articles 1 and 69 ofthis Constitution or of this Article, by two-thirds of the votes validly cast;and

(ii) In any other case, ofa majority of the votes validly cast.

Comment

An entirely new provision in the Constitution needs only a simplemajority. Amending or repealing any existing provision requires 2/3 of the votes.
