Pema Tenzin joined the International IDEA team as the Project Manager for Bhutan Project in June 2021.

Prior to joining International IDEA, he served as a civil servant with the Royal Government of Bhutan for over 16 years. He started his career as a Planning Officer in a Local Government where he was involved in providing services directly to the communities and grassroots. Later, he served in the Gross National Happiness Commission (GNHC) where he liaised with various development partners in mobilizing funds for the implementation of development plan activities. Pema served as Project Coordinator for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded skills development project jointly implemented by the Ministry of Labour and Human Resources (MoLHR) and Ministry of Education (MoE) from 2019 – mid 2021.
