Olive Aseno

Communication Officer, Nairobi

Olive Aseno is the Communications Officer for the Women in Political Participation (WPP) Project in our Nairobi office. Olive joined International IDEA in August 2023.

Olive holds a journalism degree (broadcast and print media major, French minor) from United States International University-Africa, (USIU-Africa), where she graduated with honours (Magna Cum Laude) and is passionate about developmental communication, with a strong bias toward digital media.

She graduated from the McKinsey Forward 360 program, an initiative to sharpen the adaptability, resilience, and leadership skills of Young Professionals.  

Olive has previously worked for Flone Initiative, Eastern Africa Child Rights Network (EACRN), East African Centre for Human Rights (EACHRights), International Commission for Jurists (ICJ) in Kenya among other organizations. Her roles sought to amplify the rights of women in Africa through various international and regional rights-based tools and advocacy-centric interventions.
