Nicolette Karina Kalfas

Nicolette Karina Kalfas serves as a Research Assistant for the Global Democracy Coalition, a dynamic multi-stakeholder alliance dedicated to advancing and safeguarding democracy worldwide. This coalition is strategically coordinated by the North America Programme at International IDEA. Nicolette's tenure with International IDEA began in April 2024, where she plays a pivotal role in orchestrating the coalition's engagement in both the Summit for Democracy and the preceding GDC Forum.

Prior to her role at International IDEA, Nicki honed her skills at the public relations boutique, The Sway Effect, in New York. There, she specialized in communications, data analytics, social media relations, and website design. With a robust educational background in political science, psychology, and communications, Nicki emerged as a reliable advisor to her clients, fostering enduring relationships built on trust.

Beyond her commitments at International IDEA, Nicki's expertise has garnered recognition in Reaching Critical Will's magazine, The Monitor, having several articles published on the United Nations General Assembly's First Committee. Additionally, her collaboration with Reaching Critical Will and the United Nations General Assembly's First Committee has been commended and published by the Pace University International Disarmament Institute.

Nicki graduated with Cum Laude honors and earned a place on the Dean's List when she obtained her B.A. in Political Science with a Minor in Psychology from Pace University. Her outstanding contributions have also earned her distinction as a distinguished member of the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success.
