Marsida Gjoncaj is the Project Coordinator at Regional Europe Office. Marsida is based in Tirana, supporting International IDEA’s growing portfolio in the Western Balkans, coordinating work in Albania and Kosovo. Marsida joined International IDEA in June 2024. 

For the past 9 years she has been providing political advice to diplomatic missions such as the UK Embassy and the European Union Delegation to Albania, in the field of democracy and governance. Prior to that, Marsida has been working in the civil society sector in Albania. She brings rich experience in working with elections and parliamentary strengthening, political parties, and anti-corruption, EU enlargement policy etc.

Marsida completed her graduate studies in Lund University, Sweden, and has done various academic and professional exchanges between Milan and Berlin as well; experiences which have enhanced her respect for diversity and inclusion.
