Maria Angeles Morales González

Adviser, Democracy Assessment

María Ángeles Morales González is an Adviser in International IDEA’s Democracy Assessment Unit, focused on democracy and human rights research and analysis in the Americas region. Maria joined International IDEA in August 2022.

During her professional career she has specialized in international law, international human rights law, electoral law and democracy. Before joining International IDEA she served as a law clerk at the Federal Judiciary’s Electoral Tribunal (Regional and High Chambers). Her professional experience also includes work at the Mexico Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, and in the Directorate for Human Rights and Democracy of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
