Manuel Rodríguez

Communications Officer, Panama

Manuel Rodríguez is the Communications Officer in the Latin America and the Caribbean Office. He is focused on strengthening the visibility of our work in the region, with the design and implementation of communication strategies that position the initiatives managed from Latin America and the Caribbean. Manuel joined International IDEA in September 2024.

Manuel has more than 20 years of experience in the humanitarian and development sector, he is a journalist and radio broadcaster with an MBA in projects and administration. She has experience in designing and implementing communication strategies that strengthen the reputation and impact of organizations, programs, and projects.

Prior to joining International IDEA, Manuel held positions as a communications specialist for UNDP in Panama and at OCHA's regional office for Latin America and the Caribbean, where he led corporate communications and participated in digital listening and analysis teams, as well as information management for decision-making. 

At the International Red Cross Movement, he worked for both the Committee and the International Federation, focusing on raising awareness of issues related to migration and persons deprived of liberty, disaster preparedness and response, and communication development programs.
