Julia Thalin is an Associate Programme Officer with International IDEA’s Electoral Processes Programme. Her current work focuses on the Protecting Elections project, which promotes strengthening gender-sensitive risk management, resilience-building and crisis management in elections.

Before joining International IDEA, Thalin worked as a desk officer at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, focusing mainly on multilateral cooperation, gender equality, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and international development, and has experience working in the non-governmental sector in Southern Africa on sustainable development and gender equality. She holds a Master’s Degree in political science from Uppsala University, Sweden, and a Bachelor of Science in global studies from  Gothenburg University, Sweden.
