José Muñoz is a Programme Officer within the Peru Office. His work focuses on promoting democratic values and strengthening political dialogue.

José has a longstanding experience in the field of international relations, with a particular focus on official technical assistance in the fields of Democracy, Human Rights, Governance, Education, Innovation, Technology and Research. Prior to joining International IDEA in August 2023, he worked as a Project Coordinator for the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in the Andean Region, and as an ICT Project Coordinator for the Korean International Cooperation Agency. José is Alumni of the International Academy for Leadership (IAF) from Germany and was a 2012 fellow researcher in UNIDO in Vienna.

In his free time, he teaches in the Political Science Faculty of the University of Applied Sciences in Peru.
