Jonida Shehu

Associate Project Officer

Jonida Shehu is an Associate Project Officer within IDEA’s Regional Europe Programme. Her work focuses on the implementation of the project “Integrity and Trust in Albanian and Kosovo Elections:  Fostering Political Finance Transparency and the Safe Use of Information and Communication Technologies (Phase II)”, co-implemented with the Rule of Law Centre of Finland.  Prior to joining International IDEA, Jonida spent 16 years at the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE)’s Presence in Albania.  Her work included boosting the capacity of the Electoral Management Body in Albania and carrying out the drafting, budgeting, planning and implementing of numerous election-related projects.

Jonida  has a solid track record of working with international organisations and civil society groups, focusing on the rights of individuals with disabilities (special needs) and national minority institutions - to enhance their knowledge of their electoral rights, to promote their active participation in the electoral system and to support these groups in  making informed choices. Additionally, she has also been an official observer for numerous elections in the UK, Austria, and Albania, both as a representative of OSCE and as a member of   the Election Observation Mission of the Organization for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).

MA in Business, European studies – management of EU project, University of Applied Sciences of Burgenland, Austria. MA in Democracy and Human rights in Southeast Europe, Dual MA degree from University of Bologna and University of Sarajevo.
