Clara Anzenza Mutanda

Programme Officer, Kenya

Clara Mutanda is the Programme Officer in the Africa and West Asia Regional Programme, based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Clara supports the Programme Manager-Political Participation and Representation (PPR) in the design of political participation and representation activities, their implementation, and reporting for results.

Mutanda joined International IDEA on 6 April 2021. Clara Mutanda is a seasoned a Programme Management Specialist with over eleven years of progressive experience in design, management, and implementation of programmes. She has skills and expertise drawn from the thematic areas of conflict management, democracy, and governance. She is also experienced in capacity building; field office coordination; Monitoring and Evaluation. She has hands on experience working with private and public sector project management mechanisms, government relations as well as national and international experience gained from supporting election and referenda processes.

Prior to joining International IDEA, Clara was working for International Alert, managing their governance and peace building project. Previously, she was with Mercy Corps Kenya Office where she managed two peace-building programmes- in Kenya and East Africa region. She has also worked with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Kenya, formerly United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) and United Nations Mission in Timor Leste (UNMIT).
