Binto Bali

Associate Programme Officer

Binto Bali is an Associate Programme Officer in International IDEA’s Democracy Assessment Unit, where he works as part of the team producing the Global State of Democracy (GSoD) Initiative. His research is principally focused on Democracy and Human Rights in Sub-Saharan Africa. Binto joined International IDEA in August 2024. 

Prior to joining the Democracy Assessment Unit, Binto served as a Humanitarian Affairs Officer at the UN’s Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Afghanistan. He has also worked for a number of international organisations, think tanks and government agencies, including the World Food Programme (WFP) in Northeast Nigeria, Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) in South Sudan, Quilliam Foundation in the United Kingdom, and the Embassy of Sweden in New Delhi, India.
