Former Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, STEP Democracy Programme

Beata Magdalena Matysiewicz is the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for the STEP Democracy Programme in Myanmar since 2019.

For over a decade, Matysiewicz has been working in the field of democracy and electoral assistance with, in recent years, a special focus on results-based monitoring and evaluation.

Prior to joining International IDEA, Matysiewicz worked at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe /Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR), where she was responsible for driving the Office’s monitoring and evaluation system (2015-2018).

Matysiewicz previous work include the development and management of a multi-country programme of capacity building for civil society to observe campaign finance (Bolivia, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova), capacity building for political parties to observe elections (Tanzania), civic and voter education (Tunisia) as well as deploying technical assistance teams to election management bodies.

Matysiewicz has led and participated in several needs assessment and field visits to Latina America, Souths Caucasus, Central and Southeast Asia.
