The global state of democracy in 2023 is complex, fluid and unequal. Across every region of the world, democracy has continued to contract, with declines in at least one indicator of democratic performance in half of the countries covered in the Report.

El libro ofrece una perspectiva amplia sobre el financiamiento político en Paraguay. Parte de las elecciones municipales de 2021, cuando se introdujeron regulaciones en el ámbito electoral, particularmente en los mecanismos de control y rendición de cuentas del financiamiento político. Además, se implementó por primera vez el voto preferencial y se generalizó el uso del voto electrónico.

This case study examines several kinds of risks to electoral integrity present in Brazil and the role that the Electoral Justice plays in preventing and combating them. It addresses the risks, describing in each case the preventive policies as well as occasions on which some risks have materialized as threats. The paper also highlights some crisis management procedures in particular timely communication and proactive tools.
